Dr. Elassar is incredibly kind, patient & knowledgeable. Throughout the entire process she guides you through everything you need to know and discussion all options. I owe her more than she will ever know!
[Dr. Elassar] truly cares about what she does and your health…easy to talk to, always follows up, bedside manner that I thought no longer exists with NYC doctors. Highly recommended. The best doctor I have ever met.
Amazing Doctor and nurses/staff. Everything is in her office so it’s very convenient. They work with you through anything. She is very straight forward. I currently have my 4 month old after our first try. I also have more embryos frozen for the future. Highly recommend. Best!!! Also, you will not be treated like a number which tends to happen in IVF clinics. She does all ultrasounds herself. You will always see her
I was previously misdiagnosed with PCOS by my gyn, only for this Doctor to negate it. We found out that I don’t have PCOS and it was male factor. That was over 6 months ago, and I am happy to say I am 4 months preggers with baby #1. Thank you so much NYC IVF, you have no idea how grateful I am.
Overall experience was great. The office was comfortable and clean. I could call at any time with any question and she would either pick up or call me back right away. She got right down to the problem and solved it with ease for my husband and I. We are now expecting our first baby boy with one month to go. Thank you NYC IVF for playing a major role in completing our family. We will never forget you and I would recommend anyone to you. The best of the best.
Deciding to write about my struggles with infertility was not an easy decision for me to make. I remember that while struggling to get pregnant, I felt so ashamed that as a woman I could not do what in my mind I perceived to be something that should be so simple and easy to do – become pregnant. Month after month, we received a negative pregnancy test. Time was not on our side so we decided to seek outside help. We did so discreetly because the shame I felt was so real and so stinging. I walked into Dr. Elassar’s office feeling defeated, hoping that she would be able to help but truly feeling as though I was not destined to be a mother. From the moment I stepped into Dr. Elassar’s office, I felt like I was taken care of. The shame of not being able to conceive was still there but what was slowly disappearing was this feeling of helplessness. At our first meeting, Dr. Elsasar laid out a plan that provided me with a roadmap for the possibility of one day becoming a mom, which in turn provided me with a glimmer of hope. Dr. Elassar was optimistic, but most importantly, she was also realistic. Seeking out IVF, you hear countless horror stories of women being mistreated, misdiagnosed, and offered false hope. This was never the case with Dr. Elassar. She struck the very fine balance between providing hope but also recognizing that IVF is not ever a sure thing.
One moment that stands out in particular to me was after my first egg transfer. I went through one round of IVF with Dr. Elassar and the egg retrieval was successful. We had eggs to transfer and eggs to freeze. We transferred the best egg first. I was crushed when it didn’t take. Contrary to popular belief, it is possible to be a little bit pregnant and that’s exactly what happened my first time around. The egg had taken and I was pregnant but it wasn’t a viable pregnancy. I had a chemical pregnancy and lost the baby. I was shocked and saddened. Dr. Elassar herself had called me to deliver the news and my only solace was found in her. She delivered the news but it was what she did after that will always stay with me. She said “Sandra, I know you are sad but I am so hopeful. I am so sorry about this but please do know that we are going to try again.” We talked for about 20 minutes, a level of care I have not experienced with any other doctor I have ever seen. She went above and beyond again when I returned to the office after the chemical pregnancy for follow up blood work. “I can tell you’re sad Sandra. Please don’t be sad. We will try again.” She then spent the next 40 minutes stepping out of her doctor role and instead spoke to me like someone who was devastated to have just failed their first transfer. It was truly one of the most humane ways to treat a woman so vulnerable. I imagine it would be very easy for a doctor to ignore this vulnerability and the uncomfortable messiness of patient emotions. That is not Dr. Elassar’s style. I have no doubt there are many doctors knowledgeable about the IVF process. I don’t however doubt that a doctor like Dr. Elssar is so rare to find in this field. You will not be a number to her. You will not be the number of eggs you are able to produce. She sees you as your own unique individual – vulnerabilities and all. And how important is it to be seen as your own unique person through one of the most vulnerable moments in a woman’s life? For me, tremendously important.
I can never thank Dr. Elassar and her staff enough. She did make me a mom. I have two children – a rambunctious, lively, and sweet, two year old boy and his extremely calm, go with the flow, opinionated sister. This mother’s day, Dr. Elassar emailed me directly to wish me a happy mother’s day and I was not surprised. She remembers everything about your case, she answered each of my emails no matter what time I emailed her, her staff always being there, during my sad moment and my successes that came after. I don’t know how to ever thank them and Dr. Elassar. There are no words to describe my happiness. Instead, I’ll let the picture of our family show you and I’ll end by saying that if you are looking for a human to human connection with someone who is also extremely knowledgeable about the IVF process, please see Dr. Elassar. They will always take care of you.
We were so lucky to meet Dr. Elassar when we decided to have IVF in NYC. She was on the top of the list of IVF doctors when I searched on Google. She encouraged me even when I failed three times IUI and twice IVF in Argentina. What gave me more confidence was that she followed the whole process with me and answered my questions in time. The plan she offered was very practical and economic in my case. She would say ‘no’ when I tried to do some unnecessary checks. I was so thankful to be her patient. And the whole team was very nice and helpful! Thanks so much! Now we have two lovely baby girls who are already 18 months. They are so adorable! Thanks Dr. Elassar again for helping me to make my dream come true! We love you!
Incredibly brilliant and extraordinarily kind- Dr. Elassar is there every step of the fertility journey, from the initial scans, treatment options and medications through all of the subsequent appointments, retrievals and transfers. It is an emotionally taxing process and she continually lightens the burden through her warmth and compassion. We never doubted that she was providing us with the best possible care and treatment, and we are thankful every day that she was our doctor. The staff is also amazing – helpful and encouraging and extremely flexible with regards to scheduling your (many) appointments. I cannot recommend the whole practice highly enough.
Excellent clinic, Dr. Elassar is kind, understanding and patient. Very recommended.
Dr. Elassar is truly the best. She is so kind and makes you feel like a personal friend. She truly cares. THE BEST DOCTOR and I seriously tell everyone that!
I can’t speak highly enough of Dr. Elassar and her team at NYC IVF. Three years ago we started on the fertility journey and through Dr Elassar’s help, we had our daughter, Mila, who is the joy of our life. We are hoping for a second success soon, again with the help of NYC IVF. While the fertility journey can sometimes be long and challenging, Dr. Elassar and her team are so supportive and encouraging. I would recommend NYC IVF to anyone looking for caring, pragmatic, and supportive fertility care.
Dr. Elassar and her team at NYC IVF are the most amazing, kind, caring and professional people we had the privilege of taking care of us. And because of them we have a beautiful, nearly 9 month old baby girl, Annabelle! She is the light of our lives and we will be eternally grateful to NYC IVF. We could not recommend them any more!
I cannot put into words how grateful I am to Dr. Elassar and her team of angels. After seeing several doctors and feeling much like cattle being herded in generic clinical settings, I found NYC IVF. From the moment I called for an appointment I was treated with care and compassion. Dr Elassar herself is incredibly talented, caring and warm. Her staff are gentle, efficient and mavericks with needles (thank you Racquel!). I did not have an easy path, but NYC IVF was with me literally holding my hand every step of the way. And it made all the difference. I am a mom to a perfect little girl thanks to Dr. Elassar. I could not recommend her more!
My whole experience with Dr. Elassar was truly amazing. Besides being a brilliant doctor she is also an incredibly supportive and kind person. Her whole team, from the front desk to the nurses, are a bunch of really fabulous people who were always there supporting me and rooting me on.
After 2 failed IVF rounds at RMA of NY it was time for a change and Dr. Elassar was a breath of fresh air. No waiting rooms filled to the brim. No seeing a different doctor every visit. No being treated like a number. Dr. Elassar gives you an exceptional personalized experience and makes you feel like you are her only patient.
She did all my monitoring, she followed up with results, she did my egg retrieval and embryo transfer. She also gives hugs when needed. From the first consultation, I felt so lucky to have found Dr. Elassar. She spent quite a while with my husband and I going through almost every detail of my previous IVF cycles explaining things to me that my previous Doctor had not.
After one round of IVF with her I’m a proud mom of twins!! She is truly an incredible person and doctor. I’m beyond grateful for her.
Being a patient of Dr. Elassar was a treat. It’s rare you get so much one-on-one time with a doctor. She cares about every single one of her patients equally and is always 100% prepared for all scenarios. She was incredibly knowledgeable and versatile. Throughout the process, my body didn’t always cooperate but Dr. Elassar was always ready to adjust the treatment as needed and to respond to many of the unknowns. She was always 100% honest with me in regards to treatment and outcomes. She also always followed up, it was one of my favorite traits of hers. Also, she was shockingly available 24/7, always wanting to be available for her patients.
Dr. Elassar was my sole doctor contact throughout my entire treatment. She was detailed in her explanations and ALWAYS followed up when she said she would. She was available 24/7 for any questions or concerns I had. She was kind and considerate of everything we were going through but firm with her recommendations if we needed to change anything in our day to day life.
Personalized care is something you wont get at a larger practice. They tailor the treatment to each patient in lieu of “the standard of care” and standard protocols. The location is key, and they will make the hours work. Each person who worked at the clinic knew exactly who my husband and I were, they knew my schedule pretty well and were really patient with us. We were given pretty personalized care. Any of my concerns were addressed by all the staff. They were extremely supportive.
Dr. Elassar worked with my schedule and was extremely accommodating. She scheduled her time off around my treatment. Even when she was on vacation, she would always be responsive. When my cycle start was delayed, she was able to fix the plan and explain all the upsides and downsides. She is very realistic and explains the data, the research, and how it applies to me. Things that are specific to my ethnic background which may be different than the typical american patient. She is attentive, research and data driven, and very focused on getting the best results for her patients. I wish I went to her from the beginning.
She’s the best doctor I’ve ever had. period. She is kind, incredibly smart, caring, and personable. She runs a timely office and sees you at each visit. She explains each step of the process in detail so you know exactly what to expect. Before I started on the hormone injections, she gave me a calendar with our daily plan for the next 12 days and we adjusted it at each visit. On the day on the retrieval, she held my hand while they administered the anesthesia and was right there when I woke up. After successfully turning all of the eggs she retrieved into embryos, we froze 100% of the embryos on day 3. We froze 3 times the number of embryos we should have according to average statistics – and I attribute that to how amazing Dr. Elassar is at her job. I’m just sad that I can’t have Dr. Elassar as my doctor throughout pregnancy. She is that wonderful.
My whole experience with Dr. Elassar was truly amazing. Besides being a brilliant doctor she is also an incredibly supportive and kind person. She spent quite a while with my husband and I going through almost every detail of my previous IVF cycles explaining things to me that my previous Doctor had not. I’m sure there are many good fertility doctors in NYC but Dr. Elassar is really just one of a kind. After one round of IFV with I’m almost 8 weeks pregnant with twins. I’m a week out from moving on to an OB and just thinking about having to leave her is making me tear up right now. She is truly an incredible person and doctor. I’m beyond grateful for her!
The office is small, so the whole staff knows you by name—there is never any trouble getting appointments or prescriptions, and they are very responsive to emails/calls as well. The atmosphere is relaxed (as much as it can be), and you never feel as if you are being rushed out the door.
Dr. Elassar is the only fertility specialist we’ve ever seen, so I don’t have experience with the larger clinics/how they’re run, but I cannot imagine going through this with any other doctor. She performs every scan and every procedure, follows up immediately with results/next steps, and is available over email constantly. She knew my file by heart within the first few visits, and at every appointment, she was interested not only in discussing treatment steps but also how I was doing and how my husband was doing. She is very matter-of-fact in her approach, but she also makes us laugh every visit, and continually makes us feel like we are her only patients.
My husband and I decided to see a fertility specialist just for peace of mind after we had been trying for six months with no success. We picked Dr. Elassar based on her reviews and how close her office was to my work, and I am so grateful every day that we did. From the first appointment/scans through our most recent egg retrieval, she has been nothing short of wonderful through every stage—walking us through each step of the process, answering emails at all times (nights, weekends; it makes no difference), and providing endless support. Her warmth and compassion over the past ten months we have been undergoing treatment have made the entire process so much more bearable—at every visit (and there have been many), she greets me with a smile, and appointments have become a welcome break in the work day rather than something to dread. She is incredibly kind and brilliant and we are so thankful for her.
Put simply, Dr. Elassar is the best doctor I have ever had. I believe she is an empath with an Einstein-like genius and passion for her vocation. If that is not the ultimate combination for a doctor, I don’t know what is. When my husband and I were looking for a doctor, we reviewed hundreds of bios all across the country, and interviewed several other doctors. My hope in writing this review is that my words will provide you the confidence to call Dr. Elassar without hesitation as once you meet her, you will be so relieved to know she exists and you will never look back.
Excellent clinic. It feels like a personalized boutique experience and not a mass-production impersonal factory approach. Also, they are careful to give a lot of individual attention to each person. I have never felt rushed, and there are never more than 1-2 people in the waiting room. They go over everything in great detail and help you with whatever you need, whether it’s ordering prescriptions or working with your insurance.
Not only is Dr. Alyaa Elassar amazingly competent and knowledgeable, she is very caring and puts the patient’s well-being (mental, physical, financial) above everything else. She takes the time to explain things in great detail, and customizes personalized treatment to one’s specific needs, rather than mass-production factory approaches. Dr. Elassar knows my file inside out, and despite my complicated medical history (thyroid disease) and age (early 40s) she did not write me off and went to great lengths customizing protocols for me. I was able to get pregnant because of the protocols she designed for me. She is very hands-on and has a no-nonsense down-to-earth approach, which is very refreshing and reassuring. You immediately get the feeling that you’re in very good hands. Not to mention she responds to emails very promptly even at odd hours and nights and weekends. I recommend her wholeheartedly!
Dr Elassar is in every detail and closely manages everything. She does all the scans herself and clearly communicates what she sees. She is also always interested in the wellbeing of the patient, follows up after every treatment. She is available 24 hours a day and always sends lab results to you the same day as they come in with clear next steps. She clearly explained that we may need a few rounds to adjust the medication for better stimulation and when we got to the right meds all went as planned with good implementation. Unfortunately the pregnancy did not last past 9 weeks but we will continue to try again with Dr Elassar. We are lucky to have her and hope to get the result we want soon.
