When should I see a fertility specialist?
After a year of trying without success, or after six months if you’re 35 or older. If you have a known concern, like irregular cycles, endometriosis or an abnormal sperm analysis, come in sooner. There’s no harm in an early consultation.
What happens at the first consultation?
Plan for about 90 minutes. We’ll review your medical history and goals, perform a pelvic ultrasound, and draw bloodwork on site. After your conversation with Dr. Elassar, you can expect to have an outline of a provisional plan.
Will I need IVF?
Not necessarily. Many patients succeed with treatments like ovulation induction or IUI. Dr. Elassar will recommend the approach that fits your history and goals.
Should I transfer more than one embryo?
We usually recommend a single embryo transfer. Transferring two embryos raises the chance of twins, and twin pregnancies carry more risk for parent and babies. Transferring one embryo at a time, and freezing the rest, keeps that risk low.
Do you work with insurance?
Yes, we can work with your insurance. Every plan is different, so contact our team for a review of the benefits available under your plan.
