Success rates

Our outcomes, reported to SART.

NYC IVF is a member of the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology (SART). We report our IVF cycles to SART, which publishes results for every member clinic. The figures below come directly from our SART Retrieval and Transfer Tables.

Patient’s own eggs

Live birth outcomes by age.

2024 report · Preliminary. Some outcomes from cycles started late in the year aren’t known yet. SART marks a report final one year after it’s first posted.

Frozen transfers of PGT-A tested embryos

Live births per single embryo transfer

Frozen transfers of one embryo that was tested with PGT-A, from egg retrievals in 2024, by age at retrieval. Each dot is one transfer.

SART’s note: This table only includes embryos that were biopsied and deemed suitable for transfer. Cycles that were cancelled, or that had no embryos suitable for transfer, aren’t counted here. The next chart shows how many cycles reach that point.

From cycle start to embryos

How many cycles reach each step?

Fresh cycles with the patient’s own eggs started in 2024, including embryo banking and fertility preservation cycles. This is an indicator of a clinic’s ability to successfully retrieve eggs, and fertilize them to maturity, at which time they can be transferred or frozen. The scale is fixed at 0–50 cycles so both years read the same way.

A comparison of clinic success rates may not be meaningful because patient medical characteristics, treatment approaches, and entry criteria for ART may vary from clinic to clinic.

Understanding the report

How to read these numbers.

SART reports every member clinic the same way. Here’s what the terms mean.

Per transfer, not per cycle started

These tables report live births per embryo transfer, so they include only patients who reached a transfer. SART’s Clinic Summary Report answers a different question, live births per intended egg retrieval, which counts every cycle started. Both are published by SART.

What PGT-A transfers include

PGT-A tests embryos for the right number of chromosomes before transfer. SART’s PGT-A table counts only embryos that were tested and found suitable for transfer. Cycles that were cancelled or had no suitable embryos appear in the cycle-start chart instead.

What counts as success

SART measures success as a live birth, not a positive pregnancy test. Singleton and multiple deliveries are shown separately, because twins and higher-order multiples carry more medical risk.

Why some results are fractions

When a group has fewer than 20 cycles or transfers, SART shows a fraction such as 14/19 instead of a percentage, and it appears here the same way. In small groups, a single outcome can change the result a lot. A dash (—) means there were no cycles in that group.

Why results are grouped by age

Ages are the patient’s age at egg retrieval, one of the strongest factors in IVF outcomes. Look at the row for your age group rather than an overall number.

Preliminary and final reports

Some outcomes aren’t known until the year after treatment. SART labels each report preliminary when it’s first posted and final the following year.

Your chances are personal

A report can’t tell you your odds.

Clinic reports are best used as a starting point for a conversation with your doctor. At your consultation, Dr. Elassar will review your history, testing and goals, and talk through what the numbers mean for you.
