Testimonials

Dr. Elassar is incredibly kind, patient & knowledgeable. Throughout the entire process she guides you through everything you need to know and discussion all options. I owe her more than she will ever know!

NYC IVF team is really best. Dr Elassar and team helped me through whole journey. The reception team is really great especially accommodating my appointments. One of the best thing I liked here is all my queries were Answered on the same day by dr and team. That is some thing u may not see in other places.
Overall all my experience was good.

I was referred to NYC IVF and another fertility clinic by my ob-gyn. I chose to go to NYC IVF even though they did not accept my insurance and the other clinic did. I’m so glad I made that decision because Dr. Elassar and her team at the office were all very clear and communicative, made me feel extremely comfortable, and did a great job of really personalizing my treatments. Their office is also clean and beautiful, everyone tried to be helpful, but more than anything else, they were successful. I am now 9 weeks pregnant after my first IUI procedure with them. I highly recommend this fertility clinic.

[Dr. Elassar] truly cares about what she does and your health…easy to talk to, always follows up, bedside manner that I thought no longer exists with NYC doctors. Highly recommended. The best doctor I have ever met.

Amazing Doctor and nurses/staff. Everything is in her office so it’s very convenient. They work with you through anything. She is very straight forward. I currently have my 4 month old after our first try. I also have more embryos frozen for the future. Highly recommend. Best!!! Also, you will not be treated like a number which tends to happen in IVF clinics. She does all ultrasounds herself. You will always see her

Frequently Asked Questions

How does egg freezing work?

When you undergo egg freezing, you will first receive a special medicine—either orally or by injection—that will help to stimulate your ovaries to increase the number of eggs produced. Your fertility specialist will monitor your response and modify the medication dose as needed.

After a few days of ovarian stimulation, you will be sedated and your eggs will be retrieved using a vaginal ultrasound and needle aspiration. Most women can usually return to work the same or next day following the procedure.

Your eggs will then be frozen using one of two methods:

  • Rapid freezing (vitrification): The temperature is lowered very quickly to -196°C, so the water does not have time to form ice crystals and damage the egg. Rapid freezing is performed four hours after retrieval. High concentrations of cryoprotecting materials are used. Eggs are placed in a small volume of solution. One or more eggs are transferred to a special device (cryotip, cryotop, cryoloop or cryoleaf). The device is sealed and then plunged into liquid nitrogen. Cryotop egg vitrification appears to yield the best outcomes. This is the method used by NYCIVF, as eggs survive thawing better than slow freezing (with a survival rate of over 90%).
  • Slow freezing: The egg is placed within a solution that prevents it from being damaged by ice (cryoprotectant), and the temperature is lowered slowly. Frozen eggs can be stored for a very long time and can be transferred in liquid nitrogen to a long-term storage facility.

What happens when I’m ready to use my eggs?

When you are ready to use your eggs, the lining of your uterus will be prepared for fertilization. Your eggs will then be thawed and fertilized using ICSI (injection of one sperm into each egg). The embryos will then be transferred into your uterus.

Partner or donor sperm can be used. During this process, you will not require injections or anesthesia, only monitoring of the lining of the uterus using ultrasound. Approximately one to two embryos are transferred. Using vitrification, the majority of the eggs usually survive the thaw, and approximately 90% fertilize with ICSI.

Will I need time off work?

Most patients resume their regular routines the day after retrieval.

How much does freezing your eggs cost?

At NYC IVF, our all-inclusive egg-freezing package begins at $9,650 and includes monitoring, anesthesia, and retrieval. Unlike competitors or large, multi-practice offices that may surprise you with hidden fees, NYC IVF prioritizes pricing transparency. Every patient receives a detailed financial discussion during their first visit, including a clear explanation of their financial responsibility. There are no hidden fees or surprise bills.

Am I a good candidate for egg freezing?

Most women ages 25–38 make excellent candidates—the sooner, the better, because younger eggs give you higher success rates. The best time is truly now. Let’s talk.

How many eggs should I expect to freeze?

There’s no one-size-fits-all number. Your target depends on age and future family goals. Dr. Elassar and her team will work closely with you to make a recommendation.

How long does the treatment take?

Egg freezing treatments typically take 2 to 3 weeks, from the initial consultation to egg storage. Treatment includes:

  • 10–14 days of quick daily hormone injections (~2 minutes each)
  • 4–6 fast monitoring visits for bloodwork and ultrasound
  • 1 retrieval day—a 30-minute procedure, with most patients back to regular daily routines the next day

What are the side effects?

Most women experience mild, manageable side effects, including bloating, light cramps, breast tenderness, fatigue, or PMS-like mood shifts. Over 80% of patients keep their usual work and exercise routines throughout treatment.

How long can eggs stay frozen?

Indefinitely; the eggs stay the age you were on retrieval day—whether that’s 5, 10 or 25 years later.
